A+

February 16, 2024

Dear Wonderful Parents,

As many of you know, our wonderful school put in our A+ School of Excellence application almost a year ago. We included all staff members in the process of filling out the application. Once we finished our ten-plus page application it was time to turn it in.

We felt really great about our application as it showcased and highlighted everything that Acacia is, “family-oriented, community-focused, high academics, and one of the most important, the relationships held.”

In late August, we received a call that we had been selected for a site visit. Our site finished wrapped up a few weeks ago in late January. We welcomed our four A+ Judges to our wonderful campus and they spent two days immersed in everything Acacia. They visited classrooms, recess, lunch, and held meetings with our staff and families. As quickly as our guests came, they were gone and our visit was concluded.

Last night, I received a phone call that Acacia has been named an “A+ School of Excellence” recipient. For the first time since 2009, Acacia is recognized as an A+ School of Excellence by the Arizona Department of Education!

I am incredibly proud of our students, staff, and our community. We will be planning a celebration before the end of the school year. I am so humbled and blessed to be a part of this great Acacia community!

We truly are “Stronger Together”!

2024 A+ School of Excellence Award

The AEF® A+ School of Excellence® Award recognition began in 1983 as a way of identifying, celebrating, and recognizing educational excellence in schools throughout Arizona. In addition to showcasing exceptional public schools, the A+ Award application process provides school teams with an outstanding comprehensive framework that serves as a basis for school self-assessment and planning. The A+ School of Excellence® award is the highest state-level award given to a public school. The A+ Award is a powerful energizer for increasing public confidence in recognized schools, often resulting in greater parent and community involvement.
