Attendance Notifications
We understand that unforeseen circumstances may arise that require your child to miss school. If your child will be absent, please notify the school as soon as possible using one of the following methods:
1. PowerSchool
PowerSchool is our online student information system that allows parents to report absences electronically. Here's how to report an absence using PowerSchool:
Sign in to your PowerSchool account.
Select "Attendance Monitor" from the left menu bar.
Click on "Report New Attendance."
Fill out the form with your child's information, the date(s) of absence, and the reason for the absence.
Submit the form.
2. Phone Call
You can call our front office at 520-879-2203 to report your child's absence. Please leave a message if you are unable to reach a staff member directly.
3. Email
You can email our attendance clerk Kym Hines at hinesk@vailschooldistrict.org to report your child's absence. Please include your child's name, grade level, date(s) of absence, and the reason for the absence in your email.
Please note: It is important to report your child's absence as soon as possible to help us maintain accurate attendance records. Chronic absenteeism can negatively impact your child's academic performance. If your child is going to be absent for an extended period of time, please contact the school administration to discuss an excused absence plan.
It is required that we record the reason for an absence. We MUST get a reason for the absence from you or the absence is automatically UNEXCUSED. Please note that not all absences (even those called in) are excused.
PLEASE CALL 879-2202 or 879-2203 for TRANSPORTATION/BUS CHANGES Before 2:00 pm DAILY!
Thank you!
